14-inch-tall horse born in New Hampshire

BARNSTEAD, N.H. (UPI) — A New Hampshire miniature horse breeder said a newborn pinto colt was born at just over 14 inches high, well under the average height of 21 inches.
Judy Smith, owner of Tiz A Miniature Horse Farm in Barnstead, said foal Einstein was born Friday and she initially feared the tiny horse was dead, the Boston Herald reported.
"But he started to wiggle," she said, "and in 20 minutes he was up on his feet telling us he was just fine.
"We’ve been at this for 20 years and I’ve never seen one this small — never," Smith said.
Guinness World Records lists the smallest full grown horse as Thumbelina, a 17-inch-tall, 60-pound dwarf mare at Goose Creek Farms in St. Louis.
Smith said she hopes Einstein will be ready to meet the public during the farm’s May 8 open house.
